Mean Green Juniors Club Volleyball (5-8th grade)
Players in grades 5-8 will train and compete in volleyball during a 4 month season. This program is led by the UNT Volleyball Coaching Staff and Players. Training will take place twice a week for two hours at a time. Each training session will emphasize maximizing repetitions in an organized and structured environment. Players will be grouped at similar age and skill level to create a fast-paced and challenging learning environment for all participants.
Mean Green Juniors Club Volleyball is designed to provide a fun atmosphere with a variety of games in a competitive, dynamic team environment. It's a great way to learn the game from Division I college volleyball coaches and players!
Tryout Dates
October 30
11's: 1:30-3:00pm
12's: 3:30-5:30pm
13's: 6:00-8:00pm
November 6
14's: 3:30-5:30pm
15's: 6:00-8:00pm
What to bring to tryouts
- A copy of the player's birth certificate.
- 2011 USAV Medical Release Form
- Proof of USAV/NTR registration
- $30 tryout fee payable by cash only
Important Information
All players must register with USA Volleyball / North Texas Region before trying out!
- Tryouts will be held in one day.
- We recommend that you attend the pre-tryout clinic for your age group if possible.
- If a player is going to miss the scheduled tryout please notify us in advance.
- Players trying out should wear t-shirt, shorts (or spandex), kneepads, socks and athletic court shoes. Please plan on arriving at least 15 minutes early on tryout day.
- Cost: $30
- A parent or legal guardian needs to accompany each prospective player to complete the tryout forms.
- It is not necessary that parents or legal guardians stay for the actual tryout, however a seating area will be available should you decide to stay.
Age Definitions
11 & Under - Players who were born on or after September 1, 2000
12 & Under - Players who were born on or after September 1, 1999
13 & Under - Players who were born on or after September 1, 1998
14 & Under - Players who were born on or after September 1, 1997
15 & Under - Players who were born on or after September 1, 1996
Location
The location for all tryouts and the pre-tryout clinic is located in the North Texas Volleyball Gym.
